Former Employee Conditionally Settles Suit Over Pandemic Concerns

A businesswoman and one of her former employees have reached a tentative settlement of the ex-worker’s lawsuit alleging her onetime boss — who runs her company out of Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu guesthouse — fired her in 2020 in retaliation for advocating that the marketing team work from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Ridley-Thomas Suspended from LA Council, Hours Before Not Guilty Plea

City Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas was suspended from office by a divided Los Angeles City Council today, hours before he entered a not-guilty plea to federal bribery and conspiracy charges stemming from his time serving on the county Board of Supervisors. Ridley-Thomas did not attend the downtown Los Angeles arraignment hearing in person, but entered his plea via video. A status conference in his case was set for Nov. 1, and a tentative trial date of Dec. 14. Every man is supposed to be afforded the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.  Today the Los Angeles City Council is considering a motion to suspend 10th District Council Member Mark Ridley-Thomas before he has been afforded the right to defend himself or even face his accusers.

L.A. County Moves to Ban Oil Wells in Unincorporated Areas

L.A. County Takes First Steps Toward New Youth Justice Department
