The guests falsely presented themselves as credible sources of information and chose to discredit the work of ADOS Los Angeles by creating a false narrative surrounding the ADOS movement and its current members. Harris Leads Colleagues in Letter Opposing Drastic Increases to Immigration-Related Fees

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris (D-CA) led a group of her colleagues in sending a letter to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) official Samantha Deshommes expressing their strong opposition to a rule change that would drastically increase immigration fees and directly harm vulnerable immigrant populations. Under the proposed rule change, the filing fee for individuals seeking naturalization would increase 83%, from $640 to $1,170. Champion of the Community Earl C. Paysinger Dies at 64

Earl C. Paysinger,  former Los Angeles Police Department ranking officer and bridge builder between law enforcement and the black community has died. Several news sources are reporting that he died from lung cancer. He was 64. Paysinger currently held a position at the University of Southern California as the vice president for civic engagement. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actor-comedian John Witherspoon, who memorably played Ice Cube’s father in the “Friday” films, has died. He was 77. Witherspoon’s manager Alex Goodman confirmed late Tuesday that Witherspoon died in Los Angeles. No cause of death was released. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man who spent two decades in prison after being wrongly convicted of murdering his lover filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday accusing Southern California sheriff’s investigators of manufacturing a case against him. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County on Tuesday banned flavored tobacco products including e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco and menthol cigarettes amid concerns that the products appeal to young people. The county’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt the ban and to call on California Gov. Gavin Newsom to pass a statewide ban on vaping as health concerns grow.
