Lakers Welcome The Pistons To A Block Party in 106-99 Win

The most staggering statistic of the Lakers’ Sunday night victory over the Pistons was that 40.8 percent of the Pistons’ missed shots came from blocks by the Lakers. 

“We were just protecting the paint,” said Lakers’ forward Anthony Davis, who led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks. “Last game , we gave up 60-something points in the paint. It’s something we don’t like doing, and we tried to make an emphasis tonight on protecting the paint.”

The much-anticipated Lakers versus Clippers Christmas Day game was an old-fashioned showdown between two teams that share the same home court in STAPLES Center. It came down to the wire in front of a star-studded crowd that included comedian Kevin Hart and actor Anthony Anderson, but ultimately a few costly turnovers and questionable fouls erased the Lakers 15-point lead to give the Clippers the edge, 111-106.

Disruptive Clippers Beat Lakers on Opening Night

The Los Angeles Clippers used their depth and defense to earn a statement 112-102 win over the Los Angeles Lakers during their seasoning opener on Tuesday. The Clippers poured in 60 points, each active reserve scoring in the double digits. The Clippers also pushed the pace, scoring 22 fast break points to the Lakers’ five.

The Lo Down on Lakers’ Media Day

The reinvented Los Angeles Lakers held Media Day at the UCLA Health Training Facility on Friday with the return of some familiar faces and a plethora of new ones. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released. Caldwell-Pope played in all 82 games last season, averaging 11.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  One of 14 players to make at least 150 three pointers in each of the last three seasons, Caldwell-Pope has notched 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 156 games (97 starts) in his two seasons with the Lakers.
