Holly Mitchell was sworn-in to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Sunday, December 6, 2020.  However, she says that between moving out of her Senate office, moving into her new Supervisors office, hiring a full staff, getting brought up to speed on exactly what’s going on in the 2nd Supervisorial District, thanking voters and supporters and the holidays, all while remaining socially distant, she really didn’t get down to business until January 1, 2021.

FIGUEROA CORRIDOR BID OPPOSES RENAMING OF FIGUEROA TO KOBE BRYANT BOULEVARD

On August 25, 2020 Council Members Curren Price and Herb Wesson introduced a motion to rename a portion of Figueroa Street to Kobe Bryant Boulevard.  Many believe that the renaming of Kobe Bryant Boulevard would be a fitting tribute to the legendary Laker along with his daughter Gianna Bryant and 7 others who were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in January of this year.

Wesson, City of Los Angeles Declare Racism a Public Health Crisis

The Los Angeles City Council has voted to approved a resolution to declare racism a public health crisis in the city. The resolution, put forward by Councilmembers Herb Wesson, Curren Price, and Marqueece Harris-Dawson, also calls on City of Los Angeles departments to review their internal policies and procedures.
