Multitalented Teen Che Tafari is Making His Paramount+ Debut

Accomplished classical pianist, emerging actor, and future entertainer Che Tafari, will make his Paramount+ debut in the upcoming film “Little Wing,” streaming March 13. The young teen has also starred in “8-Bit Christmas” and “Me Time” with Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, and Mark Wahlberg.

WORDTheatre® and Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center Present Randall Kenan’s ‘Black Folks Could Fly’

In partnership with the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center in Leimert Park, WORDTheatre® proudly presents BLACK FOLK COULD FLY, a literary and musical tribute celebrating the legacy of the late southern author Randall Kenan, on Saturday, March 9, at 7:30pm. The reception begins at 6:30pm. This one-night-only event at the arts center explores, among many of the award-winning author’s fascinations, the theme of “Blackness.” Featured performers include Tracie Thoms, Dohn Norwood, CG, Eugene Byrd, and student musicians from the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center.

Barbara Morrison Jazz & Blues Festival Marks Second Year

The California Jazz & Blues Museum presents the 2nd Annual Barbara Morrison Jazz & Blues Festival on Saturday, September 9 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will take place at Barbara Morrison Square at the intersection of 43rd Street and Degnan Boulevard. Featured performers include Klymaxx, Dwight Trible, Eloise Laws, Debra Laws, The Son of Muddy Waters with Big Bill Morganfield, Victor Orlando, Fernando Pullum with the P.A.C. Senior Jazz Band, and The Barbara Morrison Band, originally known as The Bu Crew Band. James Janisse and Jay Jackson will host the event.

Fernando Pullum Arts Center Performs “Fa Mulan” in Leimert Park

On Saturday and Sunday, December 18th and 19th, over 40 students from ages 4-17, from the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center (FPCAC) took center stage in the People’s Square in Leimert Park.  The young but polished artists performed Fa Mulan the Musical with Broadway quality performances to the public for free.

On Saturday, October 5, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Audubon Middle School and Gifted Magnet will celebrate 90 years of educating students in the Leimert Park and surrounding communities with celebrity Audubon alumni such as Brandon Mebane of the L.A. Chargers, L.A. Councilman Curren Price, Arron Arnell “Bobo” Johnson of KJLH radio and more.

This celebration will include former Audubon Principals, Teachers and Staff members, a live DJ, a performance by Fernando Pullum, Krystal Smith-LA Limited Addition Drumline, Food Trucks, Vendors, Photobooth, Jumpers, Raffles and more.
