An Aug. 15 press conference highlighted the Sept. 3 deadline for community college students to apply for financial aid for the 2024-25 school year through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application.
New and updated financial support for the state’s community college attendees, including changes to the Cal Grant and expanded aid for new and returning students, has been announced by California Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Daisy Gonzales.
This action guarantees more than $2.5 billion over the next 10 years, including $850 million specifically for HBCUs,” the President stated.
HBCUs are invaluable to the strength of the Black community and serve as cornerstones for innovation and opportunity in higher education.
