Laser Scientist Professor Hildreth “Hal” Walker was honored in grand style at the Apollo 11’s 50thAnniversary Celebration and Engineering Day& Dinner hosted by A-MAN, Inc. STEM International Science Centerat Holman UMC White Hall. Toni Guinyard, KNBC’s  Los Angeles Reporter was the Mistress of Ceremonies at the Program which included an Engineering lesson to over 200  K- 12, Collegestudents and adults.Brian Monacelli, Ph.D., Optical Engineer for Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) led a discussion on future plans for Moon and Mars exploration and how underserved students can prepare to participate.

South Africa welcomed the opening of The first Chapter of theNational Space Society’s  (NSS) on the African Continent: The Cape Town Space Society(CTSS). Prof. Hildreth  (Hal) Walker, Jr. , the man that conducted the Lunar Laser Ranging Operations during the Apollo 11 Moon Landing and Dr. Bettye Walker worked tirelessly to bring the first Chapter of the US National Space Society to The African Continent and received a grand welcome.
