Price Marks 40th Anniversary of Ever Increasing Faith TV

Apostle Frederick K.C. Price, founder of Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles along with Dr. Betty Price, will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of his Ever Increasing Faith television (EIF) program on Sunday, April 22, at 9:45 a.m. The celebration will be held in the world-renowned FaithDome, 7901 S. Vermont Ave., in Los Angeles. The service will include several guests as well as presentations and testimonies by people influenced by the EIF ministry. EIF debuted in 1978 on KTTV in L.A. and currently broadcasts around the world. Also, the program is one of the longest, continuously-running, Christian teaching programs on television.

FAME Hosts Grand Opening of FLHI Health House

A new community service will be available to South L.A. residents though the First Ladies Health Initiative Health House. The new facility, located at 2249 South Hobart Boulevard in Los Angeles, will offer free health screenings, health clinics, healthy cooking classes and more on a monthly basis. The Health House will also be available for health-related speaking engagements and rentals. Scores of people attended the grand opening, tour and reception of the Health House on February 22. The First Ladies Health Initiative (FLHI) is proving to be a strong voice for wellness in Southern California. The faith-based outreach program, created by Executive Director Tracey Alston and sponsored by Walgreens, provided health screenings to more than 37,000 people last year. The success of the effort can be traced to the leadership and involvement of the first ladies of several churches in Los Angeles, Inglewood, Pasadena and Orange County. Notable Women in the U.S. Faith Community

The Right Rev. Barbara C. Harris is the first woman to be ordained a bishop in the Episcopal Church of the United States. An educator, musician and civil rights activist, she directed public relations for Sun Oil Company before entering the ministry. Harris was ordained a deacon in 1979, a priest in 1980 and consecrated as bishop in 1989. She retired in 2003 and was succeeded by another African American woman, the Rev. Gayle E. Harris. The Right Rev. Mildred B. Hines is the first woman elected to the episcopacy of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination. She was serving
