With confidence, grace, humility, and the effusive love she is known for, Dr. Betty Price of Crenshaw Christian Center (CCC) delivered a real life message of God’s faithfulness and unwavering faith to the 600+ women attending the 38th Annual Wisdom From Above Luncheon on Oct. 22 at the Marriott Torrance Redondo Beach.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by a collection of vendors offering clothing, shoes, jewelry, make-up, greeting cards, confections, books, wellness products and more. The event continued with lively praise and worship by Myesha Chaney, first lady of Antioch Church of Long Beach, s well as fellowship, games, giveaways and lunch.
At the heart of it all was Dr. Betty’s wise counsel, who began with a personal testimony of the past year and a half in which back surgery and two knee replacement surgeries slowed the pace of her otherwise very active life.
“There isn’t a day that I am not in pain. Yet, I believe God, and know that when He says that by His stripes we were healed, then we are healed, so I stand on this. Mark 11:24 further illustrates that whatsoever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” declared Price.
Throughout her message, which touched on faith, forgiveness, peace, provision, healing, and family, Dr. Betty reminded everyone that God is no respecter of persons, and that what He will do for one, He will do for all. She said, “That as believers, we are in the best life ever because we know God.”
She encouraged everyone with corresponding scripture for each subject and gave tangible examples of her application in each area. She talked about God’s provision and how His word brought her out of poverty.
“My parents had 11 children, and we were very poor growing up, but I always loved God from a young age. Once Fred (Apostle Frederick K.C. Price) and I married and got ahold of God’s word, we began to apply its principles such a tithing and giving, and now I’m able to do what I love most, which is giving to others,” said Price.
“At the blessed age of 82, and married for 63 years with a growing family, Dr. Betty’s unwavering faith is a prime example to many,” noted an attendee.
Dr. Betty, the author of six books, has inspired thousands with her memoir detailing her successful triumph over cancer. Through CCC, Price has established food, clothing and prayer ministries along with outreach programs to aid people battling substance abuse, domestic violence, and depression.
She also established the Vermont Village Community Development Corporation to restore that South Los Angeles neighborhood.
