The Dodgers Training Academy and LAUSD teamed up to raise awareness of fitness and baseball in the Black community. In honor of Black History Month, black students from local middle schools got a chance to attend a baseball clinic at Darby Park in Inglewood.
Earlier this month, the NFL Green culminated their environmental projects in the Los Angeles area in honor of Super Bowl LVI at the Passing of the Golden Shovel ceremony in Darby Park in Inglewood. Los Angeles will now pass the Golden Shovel to Phoenix, Ariz., the host city for Super Bowl LVII. The Super Bowl LVI host committee, the City of Inglewood, the NFL, the L.A. Rams, and Verizon partnered to host the ceremony along with a beautification project at Darby Park. Volunteers throughout the community, including members from the Divine Nine fraternities and sororities, planted trees and drought-resistant plants
View Park alum and Grand Canyon University student Andrew Joseph Summerfield, 20, was recently shot and killed at Darby Park in Inglewood. Known for being an exceptional student and athlete, Summerfield was a recipient of the Obama Award for Excellence in Academics when he was in junior high school.

Hunter Greene selected second overall in the 2017 MLB Draft to the Cincinnati Reds’ hosted an inaugural baseball leadership camp at Darby Park in Inglewood, CA. The eighteen year old is giving back to the community before attending his first spring training.
Dodgers first basemen Adrián González and pitcher Alex Wood, along with local dignitaries, dedicated the two fields on Saturday May 20 with a baseball clinic and a Dodger Day festival.
