L.A. Metro to Open New K Line Light Rail Line on October 7, Offer Free Rides on Entire Metro System October 7-9

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today announced that it will officially open the K Line, formerly known as the Crenshaw/LAX Line, to the public shortly after noon on Friday, October 7. In celebration, Metro will be offering free rides on the entire Metro Bus and Rail System, including Metro Bike Share, opening weekend. The K Line extends from E Line (Expo) at Expo/Crenshaw Station and eventually merges with C Line (Green) at Aviation/LAX Station, connecting the Crenshaw Corridor, Inglewood and El Segundo. The new store, which will open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 16, provides an elevated retail experience, including full-family shopping with exclusive product, custom store artwork by local muralists, and an activation space that will host ongoing community events for sneakerheads.

2021 Taste of Soul Canceled Due to COVID

This year, we will be hosting a drive thru only “Community Day of Service & Soul” on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 9am to 1pm from 39th Street to Coliseum along Crenshaw Boulevard. Taste of Soul is planning a day of ‘Giving Back’ to those in need of food, groceries, clothing, shoes, personal hygiene items, PPE supplies, mental health and physical health services, covid testing and vaccines, gift bags and gift cards to purchase hot food from local restaurants. PVJOBS AMONG 56 NONPROFITS RECOGNIZED BY L.A. SUPER BOWL HOST COMMITTEE AS ‘UNSUNG HEROES’ IN LEAD UP TO SUPER BOWL LVI

In its journey to Super Bowl LVI, the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee has selected PVJOBS as part of the official Super Bowl LVI Legacy Program – Champions Live Here. PVJOBS is among a total of 56 local “Champion” organizations that were designated for the Super Bowl LVI Legacy Program. These “Champion” organizations will receive grants and marketing recognition to support their work that represent diverse focus areas, including youth engagement, workforce development and social justice across the Los Angeles region.

Crenshaw’s 3DE Program Promotes Integrative Learning

Starting in Fall 2021, Crenshaw High School will be implementing a new educational program that helps students apply academic subjects into real-life. The program is called 3DE, it is an interdisciplinary program that is in conjunction with Junior Achievement.
