Calif. Officials: Get Booster Shot; Celebrate Thanksgiving Holiday Safely

In addition, the Michelle Movement is increasing public awareness of District Attorney George Gascóns blanket policies that undermine the ability of the DA’s office to prosecute perpetrators of Intimate Partner Homicide to the full extent of the law. 

LA City Council OKs Changes to Proof-of-Vaccination Ordinance

The Los Angeles City Council today approved enforcement measures and modifications for its new law requiring Angelenos patronizing indoor restaurants, gyms, entertainment and recreational facilities, personal care establishments and some city buildings to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

LA City Council OKs Changes to Proof-of-Vaccination Ordinance

The Los Angeles City Council today approved enforcement measures and modifications for its new law requiring Angelenos patronizing indoor restaurants, gyms, entertainment and recreational facilities, personal care establishments and some city buildings to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. The law went into effect on Monday, but enforcement is not set to begin until Nov. 29. The City Council on Friday tweaked the ordinance, so it will now require proof of vaccinations for only individuals who are 12 years old and over, instead of all eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, which includes people over the age of 5. In a new survey of 2,000 working Americans that took a close look at the perceptions and racial disparities surrounding taking sick time. While the COVID-19 pandemic has Americans taking their health more seriously than ever, half of respondents feel discouraged by their workplace to call out to take care of themselves when feeling under the weather.

Do You Have the Bug to Travel?

There are a few other things we should consider when we are traveling to help us be safe in other ways other than just our health.  As you travel know your surroundings, try not to look like a tourist, it can make you a mark for robbery or something even worse.  Make sure all your paperwork is in order and make copies of your important documents such as your passport, license, etcetera and put in a safe space. Make sure someone in your family knows about your travels (but you do not have to tell the world) so they can keep an eye out for you and your home. Oh, and by the way, check-in with them to let them know you are okay. Safeguard your belongings and be careful of your critical information when using public Wi-Fi’s. Bottom line, use good judgment.
