King/Drew Defeats Palisades in City Section Championship
The King/Drew Golden Eagles football team won their first-ever championship after defeating the Palisades Dolphins 56-35 in the City Section Division I championship.

The Carson Colts girls track and field team continues on their reign of dominance with their win in the 2024 CIF City Section Championships. The Colts have won the City Section title for the eighth consecutive time.
King/Drew senior Kameron Gates plays football and basketball for the Golden Eagles. Gates will be continuing his football career at Morehouse in the fall.
Crenshaw senior Jeremiah Blackmon plays basketball and football for the Cougars. He helped the football team win a Division III City Section championship in 2022. This season, the Cougars had a 11-3 overall record and led the Coliseum League with a 4-1 record.
Washington Prep senior Freeman Hopkins always prioritizes the needs of the team, whether it be in football or basketball. He helped the Generals boy’s basketball team win the City Section Division I title and the football team reach the City Section Division III championship game.
Hamilton junior Brooklyn Harris has been excelling in both basketball and track and field. She is the reigning CIF City Section champion in the 400m and has also helped the Yankees girl’s basketball team be Open Division contenders.
The Gardena Panthers girls’ basketball team ended their City Section playoff run on a high note by defeating the Fremont Pathfinders 54-12 to win the Girls Division IV City Section Title.
The Jordan Bulldogs rallied in the final minutes to etch their names in history during the Division III CIF City Section championships. They defeated the Washington Prep Generals 42-30. The title win is the first for the Bulldogs since 1980.
The Crenshaw Cougars were unable to execute a back-to-back Championship win after falling to the Banning Pilots 28-35 in the Division I City Section Championships.
