LAPD Chief Reports 16.9% Reduction in Homicides So Far in 2022

Eleven fewer homicides were reported in Los Angeles during the first month of 2022 than during the same period in 2021, a drop of nearly 17%, Police Chief Michel Moore said today. Overall violent crime, however, increased 3.5%, Moore told the Los Angeles Police Commission.

Man Indicted for Nipsey Hussle Killing

A 29-year-old man pleaded not guilty today to a grand jury indictment charging him with the March 31 killing of Nipsey Hussle and the wounding of two other men in front of the rapper’s clothing store in South Los Angeles. The indictment charges Eric Ronald Holder Jr. with one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm, along with the allegations that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm and caused great bodily injury and death.
