The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is pleased to welcome the amazing Tichina Arnold as the host of our milestone 10th Annual Awards Show. A multi-hyphenated performer, Arnold has been a mainstay in Hollywood and currently stars as Tina Butler opposite Cedric the Entertainer on the CBS hit comedy, “The Neighborhood,” which was recently renewed for its second season.

WASHINGTON – Today, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) met with officials from CBS News to discuss the importance of diversity in news coverage and insist the organization add more reporters of color to their roster of journalists chosen to cover the upcoming 2020 election campaign. CBS News recently faced criticism regarding the lack of diversity among the reporters chosen to cover the upcoming election.  CBC members also pressed the organization to take more proactive steps to increase diversity overall, including divisions outside of the newsroom. Big Boi, Travis Scott To Join Maroon 5 In Super Bowl Show

The NFL on Sunday ended months of uncertainty by officially announcing Maroon 5, Big Boi and Travis Scott as the performers at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. 

Maroon 5 had been the widely reported halftime show act since September, but the NFL didn’t confirm the band as its headliner until Sunday. The league said Maroon 5 will be joined by Big Boi, the Atlanta-based rapper from Outkast, and Scott.

‘Thursday Night Football’ to air on both CBS and NBC

“Thursday Night Football” will air on both CBS and NBC next season. The NFL has agreed to a two-year deal with the networks, the league announced Monday. CBS had broadcast games in partnership with NFL Network the past two seasons. A person familiar with the contracts told The Associated Press the deals are worth $450 million for 10 games, five each on CBS and NBC. CBS paid $300 million for eight games in 2015. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms were not made public. The new contracts for 2016 and ’17 increase the number of games
