CPR Foundation Presents Surviving Cancer Workshop

Fulfilling its mission to promote preventative health initiatives, the Cynthia Perry Ray Foundation will sponsor a Zoom workshop, “Cancer Survivorship and Caregiving,” on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The free event is part of CPR’s Sistahs Can We Talk Monthly Nurse Series. Four speakers are scheduled to address various aspects of the topic, said Dr. Kathye Jenkins, CPR founder. Compton School Community Walks for a Cure

It takes an army to fight a disease like breast cancer. That’s why hundreds of Compton Unified School District (CUSD) families, teachers, staff, and officials gathered at Greenleaf Parkway for the Fourth Annual Compton Walk for a Cure. The yearly event helps raise breast cancer awareness and provides the community with information on early detection and treatment. It is also an opportunity for survivors and their families to share their stories and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to the disease.
