The Biden-Harris administration on Thursday announced it would increase America’s supply of monkeypox vaccine by making an additional 1.8 million doses of Bavarian Nordic’s Jynneos vaccine available for ordering beginning Monday, Aug. 22.

Congressional Black Caucus today expressed its wholehearted support for Shalanda Young as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. If confirmed, Young would be the first African-American woman to lead the OMB, one of the most important federal government agencies.

From 2004 to 2011, Harris had a meteoric effect on many communities as district attorney, finding her essence in the initiative that gives first-time drug offenders the chance to earn a high school diploma and find employment in California.

This has been an incredibly difficult year, and we still have very tough times ahead. However, as we head into this season of thanks-giving, we owe it to ourselves to take a moment to give thanks, and to celebrate the triumph of Vice-President-Elect Kamala Harris. We also owe it to Kamala, who dared to dream big – who didn’t have the privilege others enjoy and worked twice as hard to get where she is. We owe it to our parents and grandparents, to all the women and men who came before us that dared to challenge a society that denied
Kamala’s win is a “dancing in the street” victory for Black women, for all women, for our nation.
Perhaps 200 years from now, someone doing research, will view this time period as a turning point in American History. It is, in fact, November, 2020 and Joe Biden will become the 46th President of the United States, and Kamala Harris makes history, on several fronts, as the first woman and person of color voted into the Vice-Presidential office.
