West LA Track and Field Contends in State Finals

The West Los Angeles College (WLAC) Wildcats men’s and women’s track and field teams had a successful season. The women’s 4x400m squad won the State Title. The entire women’s team won and the men’s team came in second in the 2023 Western States Conference (WSC) Championships.

The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to build upon their momentum from last year. They are led by a quarterback going into his fourth year in Justin Herbert and have a core of veteran talent.

Sparks Lose to High-Scoring Liberty 87-79

The Los Angeles Sparks fell to the New York Liberty 87-79. New York sank 15 three-point shots, 10 more than the Sparks, and led by as much as 27 points in the matchup. Their effort on the offensive end held Los Angeles to 25 rebounds while they made 42.

Mattel Hosts Youth Clinic With L.A. Sparks, Chargers

The Los Angeles Sparks and Chargers collaborated with Mattel and Girls Inc. to host a Play It Forward Youth clinic. Sparks guards Jordin Canada and Zia Cooke along with Jr. Sparks coach San Dixon took the youth of Girls Inc. through unique dribbling and running drills.

Student Athlete of the Week: Reign Redmond

Carson graduating senior Reign Redmond is heading to the University of Georgia to compete on their track and field team. She looks forward to being under the tutelage of Bulldogs director of Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Caryl Smith Gilbert.

LAFC Break Losing Streak With 3-0 Victory Over St. Louis

Late goals by the Los Angeles Football Club would give them a 3-0 victory over the St. Louis City SC. Since 2019, LAFC has been undefeated against expansion teams in their inaugural season. This marks their sixth win over MLS newcomers.
