Fidelis Okereke: Okereke is a former team captain of the King/Drew boys basketball team and became Coliseum League Player of the Year. Lindsey Black-Moss: Since the age of five, Black-Moss has been a dancer at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. She competes for the Hamilton girls basketball team and studies dance at the school. Black-Moss has also learned how to snowboarding and considered competing in snowboarding in the Olympics.
Kennedy Mitchell-Egbo: During his eighth grade year, Mitchell-Egbo was an honor roll student with a 3.76 GPA. He is currently a freshman on the St. Francis Golden Knights boys basketball team. At 12 years old, Mitchell-Egbo joined the You Ball Foundation and participated in Chris Paul’s CP3 National Middle School Combine.
Amari Metcalfe: Metcalfe was the team captain of the King/Drew Golden Eagles girls basketball team for three seasons. Through the Careers program at the school, she was able to work as a teacher’s assistant at a local school. Her favorite class as AP Psychology.(Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel)
Dominique Allen: Allen competed in track and field, basketball, and volleyball for Los Angeles High School. During her senior year, she took AP Government and AP Environmental Science. Allen also worked for the Black Student Union and Leadership at her school. (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel)
Justin Cornelius: Along with playing basketball for the Crenshaw Cougars boys basketball team, Cornelius has also played football and soccer. He enjoys playing chess and learning about Greek Mythology. . (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel)
Gianna Bryant: Also known as “Mambacita,” Bryant played for the Mambas AAU basketball team. She also did gymnastics, played soccer and softball. Bryant was a member of the Harbor Day School student council. Bryant was known for having a strong competitive spirit and being a fan of baking.
Adam McKinney (right): McKinney played football for Santee and was set to run track with Dorsey. While in high school, he took AP United States History, AP World History, and AP Geography. McKinney’s favorite class is Creative Writing. (Courtesy Photo)
Kailyn Watkins: Watkins was the co-captain of the Crenshaw Cougars girls basketball team and also played for the Cal Swish AAU team. Her favorite classes are Anatomy and Physiology. Watkins wants to major in nursing and ultimately wants to become an anesthesiologist. (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel)

Susie Fowler: Fowler (4) qualified for the 100m Hurdles finals in the City Section Championship three times. She also competed with the L.A. Jets in her youth. Fowler’s favorite classes are AP Literature and AP Computer Science. She is a member of Girls Who Code.
Uchenna Ndigwe: Along with playing for the King/Drew Golden Eagles boys basketball team, Ndigwe is a student ambassador for the high school.
