The Los Angeles Rams had a strong offensive campaign in their 19-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had 260 passing yards in the contest, 36 more yards than Packers signal-caller Jordan Love.
“I do like the fight in this group,” said Rams head coach Sean McVay. “This doesn’t feel good right now being in this situation.”
Running back Kyren Williams scored the first Rams touchdown with 9:51 left in the second quarter. This marks the eighth consecutive in-season game where Williams scored at least one rushing touchdown. Williams praised the offensive line for helping him continue to score.
“Everything that they do each and every week, they prepared for themselves to be in little situations like this, even if it’s on the goal line or fourth-and-one,” Williams said. “They prepare themselves to make sure we get those first downs or get those touchdowns.”

He ultimately made a season-high 102 rushing yards, leading all rushers in yards and carries with 22.
The Rams found their passing game in the second half. Stafford found the most success in targeting sixth-round Draft pick Jordan Whittington, who had 89 catching yards from seven receptions. Whittington had a season-high and had the most reception yards in the game.
“I think both those guys are great competitors, really good players for us. Obviously, [Williams] had a great season last season, he’s doing it again this year,” Stafford said. “[Whittington] has done a really nice job, a young player that’s gotten an opportunity through his own play and also injury at the spot.”
Rams rookie Blake Corum saw action in the contest, running for 25 yards from five carries. Corum noted how Williams has helped him since he was drafted.
“He’s a dog at the end of the day,” Corum said. “It doesn’t matter if he’s breaking up the long one, the short ones as you saw later in the game, that fourth-and-one, fourth-and-two, just grinding to go get it.”
The offense converted eight of their 16 third downs and two of their four fourth downs. McVay wants the offense to be more consistent.
“We’ve got to really collectively figure out based on the moving parts, some of the different things,” McVay said. “What we done well and what we can do at a better clip.”
The Rams head into a bye week and will return to action when they host the Las Vegas Raiders on October 20 at 1:05P.M.
