The Pacific Mount Olive Church of God in Christ (PMO) will celebrate 92 years of service to God and to the community on Sunday, April 26, at 4 p.m., in the main sanctuary located at 1385 East 21st Street in Los Angeles.

The church was organized in 1923 during a house prayer meeting. Elder Johnny Robins was the first pastor. Later, Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, founder of the Church of God in Christ denomination, assigned the late Bishop E. B. Stewart to lead the congregation.

Bishop Stewart served as pastor from 1931 to 1969, followed by the late Superintendent J.C. Brewster from 1969 to 1999. Today, the pastor is Superintendent Milton L. Joyner.

“The members of PMO church are proud of the heritage of the great leaders that the Lord has provided.  We extend a warm welcome to the public, former members, and friends to come and commemorate this historic celebration with us,” said Supt. Milton and First Lady Belinda Joyner.

Special guests are recording artist Markita Knight and Evangelist Juanita Bryant. The gospel message will be preached by Dr. Charles E. Gibson, pastor of the Breakthrough Church of God in Christ of Moreno Valley.
