Our Authors Study Club, Inc. (OASC), announced the deadline of June 30, for 2023 Scholarship Applications and the naming of the new graduate “Mokjaetji” (meaning illuminate) Scholarship in memoriam of lifetime member Dr. Toni-Mokjaetji Humber, vice president and scholarship chair.
Also at the New Members reception on June 4 – National Audacity to Hope Day – OASC welcomed attendees and 30 new members to the organization. Special guests included Councilwoman Heather Hutt, Community Build CEO Robert Saucedo, and Seminole Maroon descendant Phil Fixico (new member).
Public Works Commissioner Mike Davis presented a special certificate to mark the occasion. The guests were in awe of the venue new Hidden History Museum located at 2131 W. Jefferson Boulevard in the historic Jefferson Park Neighborhood. The museum is open Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Our Authors Study Club is proud to support the next generation of scholars and honor the legacy of a lifetime member. The Mokjaetji Scholarship will provide financial assistance to a deserving graduate student who is studying the African and African American experience,” stated Paqueta Davis OASC Scholarship Chair.
“We are excited to offer this scholarship in memory of Dr. Toni-Mokjaetji Humber, who was a dedicated member of our organization and a champion of Black history and culture.”
