In response to last week’s devastating Altadena fire, New Revelation Baptist Church in Pasadena, under the leadership of Pastor George Hurtt, joined forces with the Los Angeles Urban League to provide critical relief to affected families.

Their Grab & Go initiative, held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., offered three meals per person along with essential resources such as clothing, diapers, toiletries, monetary aid, and more. The efforts extended beyond the church’s doors, ensuring that those displaced and sheltered at Pasadena City College also received the necessary support.

This partnership between a local church and a prominent nonprofit highlighted the power of collaboration in addressing community needs. “Our mission is to serve, and this partnership allowed us to make a real difference during a time of crisis,” said Pastor George Hurtt. “We wanted to ensure that no one felt forgotten or overlooked, especially those hit hardest by the fire.”

This effort also underscored how Los Angeles organizations are rallying to support Pasadena churches and Altadena fire victims. Victims expressed their deep gratitude for the outreach, with one recipient stating,

“This wasn’t just about food or clothes—it was about knowing someone cared enough to show up for us,” said a resident impacted by the fires.

Through their unwavering commitment, New Revelation Baptist Church and the Los Angeles Urban League not only provided practical aid but also demonstrated the enduring strength of faith and community partnerships.
