The L.A. Sentinel has joined with the Brotherhood Crusade to launch the Brotherhood Crusade Wildfire Relief Fund to assist the residences and businesses destroyed in Altadena and Pasadena due to the Eaton fires.

Urban One, Radio One, Reach Media are the other firms supporting the Brotherhood Crusade Wildfire Relief Fund, which aims to solicit donations over the next two years to help the communities recover.

“Many residents of Los Angeles County have suffered devastating losses, including loved ones, homes, and businesses, in the wildfires. Over 7,000 homes and businesses have been destroyed in the Altadena and Pasadena areas alone,” said Charisse Bremond Weaver, president/CEO of the Brotherhood Crusade.

“For 57 years, Brotherhood Crusade has been dedicated to ‘helping people to help themselves,’ and now more than ever, we ask for your support to help us help our people. Your immediate support will provide immediate assistance to families who have lost everything,” she added.

Donations to the Brotherhood Crusade Wildfire Relief Fund will directly support wildfire relief and recovery efforts with food, transportation, clean water, medicine, and emergency shelter to affected individuals and businesses. The fund will also assist longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the impacted areas, particularly groups that have been working and serving the residents of Altadena.

“This fund will remain open now and throughout 2026 to allow us to be responsive to other needs or new fires if they emerge,” Bremond Weaver explained. “We urge the community to please make a difference and join us in rebuilding lives.”
