Born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Naomi Hutchinson had a vibrant childhood where she was able to be creative and expressive.

“Outside of school, I spent my time dancing, cheerleading and hanging out with friends,” she recalled.

After high school, she obtained a BFA in Dance from The University of the Arts. Her passion for wellness led her to acquire a holistic health certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as well as certifications in yoga, mindfulness, reiki, plant medicine, and trauma-informed facilitation.

Having worked with Nike, Cigna Healthcare, Tia, California State University and The National Coalition of Black Women to foster well-being for diverse communities, she finds joy in sharing her love for holistic wellness and offering a safe space for her clients to transform by fostering growth and empowerment.

Hutchinson is a Los Angeles-based holistic healer, yoga teacher, reiki healer, and IIN certified holistic health coach who embarked on a personal wellness and healing journey in 2020. She obtained a plethora of valuable information from conducting personal research and aspired to share it with people who looked like her. She utilized books, podcasts, and other digital content to better educate herself.

This journey led her to creating an Instagram account named Healthy+Well. She would post photos and video content about nutrition, self-care, and mindfulness. In April 2020, she created virtual offerings like donation-based Instagram Live Yoga classes and ebooks. Now, four years later, she leads personalized wellness services for those on a journey to better health.

After spending some time hosting classes virtually, Hutchinson hosted yoga events on the rooftop of her apartment building. Her classes are thriving immensely and are filled with individuals who share similar goals – to live a healthier lifestyle.

Her experiential wellness activations, such as Rooftop Yoga Classes and Luxury Retreats, are a great way for people to focus on themselves, but also connect with like-minded individuals and build a sense of community.

Out of the many who have benefited from attending one of her classes, she recalls a community member named Fatima as one client of hers who stands out immediately. She is a longtime supporter of Healthy+Well, who is also a fellow wellness practitioner. Hutchinson provided the Sentinel with direct feedback from Fatima.

“I haven’t attended a yoga class since before the pandemic. Healthy & Well Rooftop Yoga with Naomi was an amazingly sacred invitation back home to myself. Her style of teaching, knowledge, and compassion are exactly what I needed to jump back into practice,” said Fatima.

“My body re-membered, my soul said ‘yes,’ and my heart expanded with so much love. I’m back to myself again! Thank you, Naomi and The Healthy & Well Team, for the amazing work that you are putting out into the world! It matters. I AM… So incredibly grateful.”

Healthy+Well yoga classes are themed. During one class, you might be listening to the sounds of R&B singers Sza and Kehlani. Another class might be candlelit yoga with a sound bath. It varies, but this is what makes her classes unique. When asked what the inspiration was for hosting themed classes, she said she finds her inspiration through her personal yoga practice and life experiences.

“For example, I came up with the Rooftop Yoga Verzuz class concept because of my love of music and also the cultural influence of the Verzuz battles which happened during the pandemic,” she explained.

“I thought why not combine the Verzuz concept with Yoga in order to reach my desired audience of people of color and inspire wellbeing.”

Her classes and events generally happen in North Hollywood and West Hollywood.
