The members of Lewis Metropolitan CME Church will salute Pastor Travis A. Morris and First Lady Garnica Morris during an appreciation service on Sunday July 30, at 10:30 a.m., in the sanctuary located at 4900 South Western Avenue in Los Angeles.

The theme is “Man of God Walking by Faith” based on Psalms 37:23 – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in his way.” The worship service will be followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall.

The Rev. Dr. Sharon LeFluer Prince will be the keynote speaker for the service.  She serves as the senior pastor of Prince of Peace CME Church and was previously an associate pastor at Lewis Metropolitan.

Regarding Pastor Morris, a church spokesperson said, “Our pastor has remained faithful to God’s call to serve and feed his sheep. Pastor Morris has remained faithful both as charge to the Lewis Metropolitan CME church family and to the call to serve the Southern California Region of the CME church as the presiding elder for the LA/San Diego District.

“He stepped out on faith to re-open our church doors for in-person worship on the first Sunday of July 2021. Our weekly Sunday worship has continued using social media as well to reach both members and community.”

The public is invited to attend the appreciation service and luncheon. To learn more, call the church office at (323) 292-0179.
