Pastor Travis A. Morris and the members of Lewis Metropolitan CME Church will observe their 76th anniversary with two services on Sunday, January 22, in the edifice located at 4900 S. Western Avenue in Los Angeles.

The theme is “Remembering the Past- Standing in the Present – Looking into the Future.” At the 10:30 a.m. worship, Pastor Morris will preach and at 3 p.m., Bishop Charley Hames, Jr., presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District, will deliver the message.

“We cordially invite members and everyone throughout greater Los Angeles to join us for either in-person worship or virtually as we praise God for reaching this milestone,” said Jackson. “We believe you will be inspired and uplifted when you hear the sermons by Pastor Morris and Bishop Hames.”

Hames was elected and consecrated as one of five new bishops of the international denomination

in July 2022. Previously, he served 19 years as pastor of Beebe Memorial Cathedral CME Church in Oakland, one of the largest churches in the San Francisco Bay area. Known as a community advocate, he is also the author of “Pressing Reset: When Life Forces You to Start Over gain” and “Exchange: Trading Your Brokenness for Exceptional Purpose.”
