Praises and thanks to God will highlight the observance of Lewis Metropolitan CME Church’s 73rd anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The theme is “Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper, and Reaching Higher,” based on Isaiah 40:30, and the greater L.A. community is welcome to attend, said Pastor Travis A. Morris.

“We are inviting everyone to join in this spiritually blessed day of thanksgiving as we pray that God will continue to dwell in our hearts, mind and spirit through faith that is rooted and grounded in love,” explained Morris, who will preach at the morning worship.

Morris, a third-generation preacher, also serves as presiding elder of the San Diego/Los Angeles District of the CME Southern California Region. A pastor for 22 years, he accepted his call to the ministry in 1996. Following the service, a celebration dinner will be held in C.E. Mitchell Fellowship Hall.
