Music lovers are invited to Sunday Jazz at ORA (formerly Hot & Cool Café) starting January 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Presented by the Leimert Park Jazz Festival, the series will feature host bands for the first hour. The guest artists include Chris Powe Quartet on Jan. 28, Feb. 25, Mar. 24, and April 28.
Veritus Miller’s Truth Troup will perform on May 26, June 23, July 28, and Aug. 25. Jonathan Pinson is scheduled for Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.
The second hour of Sunday Jazz will will be an open jazz jam session, said Diane Robertson, executive producer of the Leimert Park Jazz Festival.

“Come to listen or come to jam! Bring your own instrument, except for drums, which will be provided,” encouraged Robertson.
“The jam session musicians will create a pipeline for the ‘emerging artist’ set at the Leimert Park Jazz Festival held annually on the last Saturday of August.”
The jazz series will be held every fourth Sunday of the month at ORA, 4331 Degnan Blvd., in the historic Leimert Park Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. The admission fee is $10 at the door.
“ORA is a newly renovated and refined community space owned by husband-and-wife team, Tony Jolly and Tina Amin,” Robertson said.
Inviting the public to attend, she added, “Join us and spread the word as we uplift local rising Jazz stars and expand the Leimert Park Jazz Festival community.”
