The 20th anniversary celebration of the HUF Awards – honoring unsung fathers – takes place on Sunday, June 18, at 1 p.m., at the Hilton Hotel, 701 West Ocean Blvd., in Long Beach.
Sponsored by the Mablean Ephriam Foundation, the event will feature actor and comedian Chris Tucker, along with notable personalities such as Judge Mathis, MC Lyte, Donnie McClurkin, Faith Evans, and the event’s creator, Judge Mablean.
The HUF Awards recognizes exceptional fathers who have made a significant impact on their families and communities. These extraordinary parents are nominated by their loved ones and categorized across various disciplines. The winners are determined by the MEF committee members.
The HUF Awards also serve as a major source of funding for the MEF College Scholarship Program, which grants scholarships to graduating seniors in 2023 and provides further educational scholarships to previous award recipients still pursuing their academic endeavors.
A television staple for decades, Judge Mablean is widely recognized for her current syndicated show, “Justice with Judge Mablean,” in which she showcases her expertise and commitment to justice.
The event, which includes red carpet, brunch and live entertainment, is open to the public. For tickets, visit hufawards.org or call (323) 445-6669.
