Crenshaw Montessori Academy
Founded in 1977, Crenshaw Montessori Academy (CMA) is a preschool and kindergarten offering advanced individualized Montessori-style teaching for children ages 2-6 years old. Crenshaw Montessori Academy is a space where learning is natural and the teacher and environment work together to prepare children for adolescence.
Following the Montessori approach, the teacher serves not only as an educator, but also a mentor, model and guide. Aware of each student’s progress, the teacher is able to offer guidance and challenge students to master key concepts and skills with a hands-on approach.
The teachers encourage children’s interaction with their environment to inspire independent learning. At Crenshaw Montessori Academy, you will see your child grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. The school operates Monday through Friday 6:30am to 6:00pm and piano classes are held from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday.
Currently, CMA employs 3 full-time staff and 37 students are enrolled. CMA is located on the east side of Crenshaw Boulevard at 4914 S. Crenshaw Boulevard.

Crenshaw Yoga Studio
Crenshaw Yoga & Dance was founded in 2004 by Ms. Kar Lee Young, who saw the need for a yoga studio in South L.A. and decided to create a unique space where the community can gather to practice.
Located between 54th and 57th at 5426 Crenshaw Blvd, Crenshaw Yoga’s 4 studio spaces are available for public use, private parties, events and workshops. Rooms for rent include: the Front Studio, Office Rental Space, Annex Rentals Space, and Multipurpose Room.
As the first yoga studio in the Crenshaw Community, Kar Lee Young has made it her mission to encourage the community to learn, maintain and value a healthy lifestyle and recognize the joy within. In addition to affordable yoga and dance workouts, health education classes are also held at the studio; the classes cover a wide range of topics, including a program specifically for children’s wellness and fitness.

Saturday: Zumba, Yoga for Beginners, Spoken Yoga
Sunday: Chakra Meditation
Business hours are 8:00 AM-8:30 PM Monday and Wednesday, 9:00am – -8:30pm Tuesday and Thursday, 8:45am-2:15pm Saturday, and 11:00am-12:30pm Sunday.
