The 53rd Annual Holy Convocation of California Southwest Jurisdiction starts on Tuesday, June 18, and concludes on Sunday, June 23, at the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, 420 South Santa Fe in Compton. 

Dr. Hillrie Murphy is the Jurisdictional Bishop Designee, Mother Joan Walker is the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women and Dr. William Atlas is the host pastor.  The theme is ?Experiencing the Power of Jesus Christ, Pursuing His Mission and Righteousness? based on Philippians 3:7-15.

The weekly schedule includes the Institute Hour at 6:30 p.m., directed by District Missionary Lula Clark.   The worship services will be at 8 p.m.

Thursday is Women?s Day focused on ?Godly Women Pursuing the Power and the Peace of God Which Passeth All Understanding? taken from Philippians 2:5 and 3:10. The service begins at 10 a.m., with Morning Glory Prayer. Mother Walker will bring the message at the evening worship.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., a Health Fair takes place at the Dwelling Place, 3130 West 111th Place in Inglewood.  On Saturday at 8 p.m., Dr. Iris Stevenson and Evangelist Lillie Benbow Smarr will direct a musical.

The Convocation closes on Sunday at 3 p.m., with Bishop Designee Murphy delivering the official message.
