The City of Hawthorne will celebrate diversity, honor history, and connect people with City resources at our 9/11 Ceremony, 3rd Annual World Festival, and Household Hazardous Waste event.
On Monday, September 11, the City of Hawthorne will hold a solemn 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at the Hawthorne City Hall. Mayor Alex Vargas, Mayor Pro Tem Angie Reyes English and Council Members Katrina Manning, Alex Monteiro, and David Patterson, will lead the ceremony.

The 3rd Annual World Festival is set for September 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will celebrate a variety of music genres, dance styles, customs, cuisine, crafts, and cultural presentations.
On Saturday, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the L.A. County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event will take place at the Betty Ainsworth Sports Center. Residents can properly dispose of paint, cleaning products, batteries, electronic waste (e-waste), and more. Participation is free of charge for Los Angeles County residents.
