CBC Chair Karen Bass Responds To Northam Press Conference Regarding Black Face and KKK Costume
By Sentinel News Wire
Published February 3, 2019
WASHINGTON –  Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), issued the following statement regarding Governor Northam:

“Nothing we heard today from Governor Northam helps his state to heal. The governor’s comments only raise more questions about his sincerity in truly understanding his past actions and the pain those actions have caused. Yesterday he said he was in the photo, today said he wasn’t and tried to distinguish moonwalking in blackface from standing in blackface next to someone in a KKK costume. We again add our voices to the growing chorus of leaders and organizations who have called on the governor to resign and recognize that Virginia cannot fully heal the longer he remains in office.”
