AME Community Lenten Caravan hosted by eight AME churches continues on March 27, at 7 p.m., at Brookins-Kirkland Community AME, 3719 W. Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles, said host Pastor Mary S. Minor. Pastor Carolyn Baskin-Bell of Second AME will preach. Three more services leading up to Resurrection Sunday will be held to provide spiritual renewal for believers. The host churches are New Philadelphia AME, 6380 Orange Ave., in Long Beach on April 3; Ward AME, 1177 W. 25th St., on April 9; and Bethel AME, 7900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles on April 17.

Walker Temple AME Church holds Stewards and Trustees Day on March 24, at 3 p.m., at 2525 Trinity St., in Los Angeles, said Pastor Marvin McKenzie, Sr. The theme is “Who’s Next” based on Acts 1:21-22. The Rev. Dwaine Jackson, pastor of Bryant Temple AME Church, will be the guest preacher. Darryl Bean and Jon Witt are the steward and trustee pro tem, respectively. Zoe Christian Fellowship of Los Angeles presents a Community Health and Fitness Fair on March 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 2521 South West View St., in Los Angeles, said Bishop Frank Stewart, pastor. The Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority – Alpha Beta Chapter of sponsors the event to help people learn about healthy living. Free health screenings for blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol will be available as well as health and fitness seminars and exhibitors. First AME Church – L.A. commemorates Women’s History Month with “The Fannie Lou Hamer Story” on March 31, at 5 p.m., at 2270 S. Harvard Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Pastor J. Edgar Boyd. The one-woman performance, featuring the award-winning Mzuri Moyo-Aimbaye, celebrates the life and legacy of the courageous voting rights and civil rights activist. Westwood Presbyterian Church presents Mozart Requiem on April 7, at 5 p.m., at 10822 Wilshire Blvd., in Los Angeles. George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah,” will be performed. Dan Redfeld will direct soprano Christina Borgioli, alto Nandani Maria Sinha, tenor Orson Van Gay, bass Matthew Lewis, and the WPC Chacel Choir and Chamber Symphony.  The donation is $20 for adults, $10 for students and free for children under 18.
