Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship presents a Pre-Valentine’s Day Father-Daughter Worship Service on Feb. 11, at 11 a.m., at 2085 S. Hobart Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Pastor James K. McKnight. “In light of disturbing news of sexual harassment, all fathers and daughters are invited to worship together at this special service. Together, we will celebrate, give thanks to the Lord for each other and reaffirm or help restore this first, best example of loving, healthy, life-long, male-female relationship,” he said.

Skirball Cultural Center and Beyond Baroque, L.A.’s oldest literary arts organization, celebrate writer/activist James Baldwin on Feb. 11, at 2 p.m., at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd., in Los Angeles. Actress Alfre Woodard, actor Jussie Smollet and poet Robin Coste Lewis will participate. On Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m., the Skirball and the Gateway Educational Foundation will host “Passing the Torch—From Selma to Today, Lessons from Leaders of the Civil Rights Movement.” Ambassador and minister Andrew Young, Dr. Bernard Lafayette Jr., and Dr. Clarence B.
