On Sunday, Aug. 6, the office of L.A. Councilmember Curren Price joined more than a dozen local community-based organizations to host a “Back-to-School Giveback” at The Beehive in District 9.

As part of their efforts, partners handed out backpacks, free clothing and school supplies to over 600 students, while stylists were also on-hand providing children with fresh hairstyles in anticipation of the first day of school.

“Equipping students with the right tools at the start of the new year helps to lay a solid foundation for successful academics,” said Price.

“It gave my wife, Del, and I much joy to help distribute bags filled with goodies to families. Together we can nurture not only a lifelong love of learning but also build up a students’ confidence while fostering their natural abilities.”
