While the 10th Council District Women’s Steering Committee like so many other organizations had to cancel their 2020 “Embracing the Future” Education-Diversity-Women annual scholarship awards luncheon this year due to COVID19. However, they were still able to provide scholarship awards to five outstanding students Symphoni Bordenave, Dorsey High. Major: Nutrition and Dietetics, Ryan Davis-Henderson, Junipero Serra. Major: Finance. Marlon Justin Rhaburn, Loyola High. Major: Computer Science, Yanai Zaree Reynolds, Dorsey High. Major: Business Administration. Indeyo Shaw, Dorsey High, Major: Mechanical Engineering.

On Saturday, July 4th Disney’s ABC7 at 4pm congratulated and saluted the 10th CDWSC 2020 Graduates. They were selected out of eight thousand candidates.

They wish to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to their sponsors CD10 Councilman Herb J. Wesson, Jr., Senator Holly J. Mitchell, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, SRC Specialty Restaurant. Without the support this would not have been possible.

Award certificates were issued under the names of our founder the late David S. Cunningham, Jr., and their Lifetime members: the late Geneva Cox, the late Johnabel Gentry, the late Alicia Salazar and the late Gladys’s Wesson.
