The Western Baptist State Convention of California will hold their 133rd Annual Session beginning on Saturday, August 5, through Thursday, August 10, announced President J. Benjamin Hardwick and the WBSC Executive Board.
The session will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church, located at 2283 North Fair Oaks Avenue in Altadena. Dr. Tyrone L. Skinner is the host pastor and moderator of the Tri-County District Association. The theme is “Our Convention Moving Forward with Prayer in Unprecedented Times,” based on Galatians 5:16-17.

Inviting the public to attend, Dr. Hardwick said, “Our session will feature awesome preaching and teaching from Dr. Michael Owens of New Hope Baptist Church in San Bernardino; Dr. John Ringgold of New Bethel Baptist Church in San Diego; and Rev. Perry J. Jones of Messiah Baptist Church in Los Angeles.”
In addition, Dr. Jerry Young, president of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., will be the guest speaker on August 10. Other highlights include the Life Members recognition service and the launch of the national expansion of the Dr. J. Benjamin Hardwick College Scholarship program.
“It will be an honor for each of you to join us for a national, state, and district proclamation of God’s profound word, the finest in worship, singing, and praise, and a range of events designed to meet the needs of all age groups,” said the president.
