I was wondering what to say to you guys after this past week of madness and destruction all over Los Angeles County. So, I turned to my dear friend, Lisa Mitchell, and she said, “As the relentless fires continue to engulf our beloved community, we find ourselves in a crucible of adversity.

“The flames, fierce and unyielding, have not only consumed our physical surroundings but have also tested the very core of our collective spirit. Yet, in the midst of this inferno, a remarkable phenomenon is unfolding — a testament to the indomitable strength of the human spirit and the boundless power of unity,” she said.

“In these trying times, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the destruction. The sight of charred landscapes and smoldering ruins can evoke a profound sense of loss and despair. However, it is precisely in these moments of darkness that the light of human kindness shines the brightest.

“Neighbors who once exchanged only passing pleasantries are now bound together by a shared resolve to support one another. Strangers have become friends, united by a common purpose: to rise from the ashes, stronger and more resilient than ever before.

“The power of unity is not merely a lofty ideal; it is a tangible force that manifests in countless acts of compassion and solidarity. Volunteers from near and far have flocked to our aid, bringing with them not just supplies and resources, but also a spirit of hope and encouragement.

“These selfless individuals remind us that even in the face of overwhelming odds, we are never truly alone. Their presence is a testament to the enduring truth that when we stand together, we can overcome even the most formidable challenges.

“Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, many have turned to their faith for solace and strength. The power of prayer has become a beacon of hope, guiding us through the darkest of times. It is in these moments of quiet reflection and fervent supplication that we find the courage to persevere.

“The words of our prayers, whispered in the stillness of the night or spoken aloud in communal gatherings, carry with them a profound sense of purpose and determination. They remind us that we are part of something greater than ourselves, and that divine grace can provide the strength we need to endure.

“The ashes that now blanket our community are not just remnants of what once was; they are also the fertile ground from which new beginnings will emerge. Each act of kindness, each gesture of support, is like a seed planted in the scorched earth, ready to blossom into something beautiful and enduring. The process of rebuilding will undoubtedly be long and arduous, but it is also an opportunity to create a future that is even more vibrant and resilient than the past.

“As we navigate this challenging journey, it is essential to remember that unity is not a passive state, but an active commitment. It requires us to reach out to one another, to offer our hands and hearts in support. It calls us to be present, to listen, and to act with empathy and compassion. In doing so, we not only help to heal the wounds of our community but also strengthen the bonds that hold us together.

“The power of prayer, too, is an active force. It is not just a ritual, but a profound expression of our deepest hopes and aspirations. Through prayer, we connect with the divine and with each other, drawing strength from a source that transcends our individual limitations. It is through this spiritual communion that we find the resilience to face each new day with hope and determination.

“In the coming days and weeks, as we continue to confront the challenges before us, let us hold fast to the principles of unity and faith. Let us remember that even in the midst of devastation, there is always the potential for renewal and growth. The flames may rage, but they cannot extinguish the light of our collective spirit.

“Together, with unwavering resolve and the power of prayer, we will rise from the ashes and build a future that is brighter and more hopeful than ever before.”   She said it all!
