Concerned Black Men of Los Angeles will mark their 20th anniversary with an awards gala, their first in-person celebration since the coronavirus pandemic derailed previous commemorations by the youth mentoring organization.
Pastor Walter Davis and the members of Rejected Stone Christian Fellowship will salute the outstanding community record of Ward Wesley at their 2020 Prayer Breakfast. The event takes place on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m., on the church campus at 4700 Avalon Blvd., in Los Angeles. According to Pastor Davis, Wesley will receive the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award in recognition of his positive efforts on behalf of youth and adults. “Ward has helped so many people in his roles as an esteemed veteran, community advocate, citizen’s activist, mediator and youth developer,” Davis said. “We are honored to acknowledge
NBC4 announced today that Renee Washington has been named Vice President of News for the station. Washington, who brings more than 20 years of broadcast television experience to the role, will report directly to Steve Carlston, President and General Manager of NBC4. Washington will begin her new post immediately.
