Intuit Dome Gets Closer to Completion

The Intuit Dome, the new arena of the Los Angeles Clippers, reached their biggest construction milestone yet. Clippers players along with Intuit Dome staff and distinguished guests watched as the final steel beam was installed.

Inglewood Approves L.A. Clippers Arena

On Tuesday the Inglewood City Council voted unanimously to approve the sale of publicly-owned property to the developers of the Los Angeles Clippers’ new arena.
Murphy’s Bowl LLC is the company that will develop the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center (IBEC). Murphy’s Bowl can purchase the property for the total price of $66.25 million. The price will be shared among several local entities, including Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the Inglewood Unified School District, and the City of Inglewood.

Clippers Finalize Purchase of The Forum in Inglewood

   The famed Inglewood venue was purchased from Madison Square Garden Co. by a newly created company called CAPSS LLC, a joint venture of Ballmer and Clippers Vice Chairman Dennis Wong. The Forum will continue to operate primarily as a music venue, with most employees keeping their jobs, according to the company.

Ballmer to Buy Forum, Clearing Way for New Clippers Arena

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is buying the Forum for $400 million, clearing the way for the billionaire to build a new arena down the street in Inglewood, California. Ballmer announced the purchase of the venerated arena from the Madison Square Garden Company on Tuesday. Ballmer, the former Microsoft executive, and Clippers vice chairman Dennis Wong are making the cash purchase through a newly formed corporation that will continue to operate the Forum as a live music venue. Ballmer has been fighting with MSG over his desire to build a state-of-the-art home for the Clippers

The Clippers are Coming to the City of Inglewood

The Los Angeles Clippers revealed last Thursday, renderings of the team’s sports and entertainment arena in Inglewood, planned to open in 2024, when their current lease at Staples Center ends. The Inglewood Basketball & Entertainment Center will include an 18,500-seat world-class arena along with a sports medicine clinic, community courts, park spaces, educational facilities, restaurants and shops. The proposed site will be located on West Century Boulevard between South Prairie Avenue and South Yukon Avenue, and will also be home to the team’s business and basketball offices, training facility, community and retail spaces.

State Bill Streamlines Path For Clippers’ Move to Inglewood

Legislation that would streamline the state environmental review process for the proposed Los Angeles Clippers arena in Inglewood is on its way to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk after winning unanimous approval from the state Senate and passing in the Assembly, 68-4.
