USC School of Pharmacy and LA Recovery Connect co-host event featuring free vaccines and screenings Scores of people filled the campus of St. Mark United Methodist Church to take advantage of the many free resources available at the Community Health Fair on Saturday, Sept. 10. USC School of Pharmacy and LA Recovery Connect co-sponsored the afternoon event, which offered COVID and flu vaccines, wellness screenings, and educational booths. The program also included raffle prizes, musical entertainment and nutritious refreshments. Aiming to meet the technological needs of their South L.A. neighborhood, Pastor Gary Williams and the members of St. Mark United Methodist Church opened a computer lab for the community.

St. Mark UMC Dedicates Prayer and Produce Community Garden

Church aims to combat food insecurity by distributing free vegetables to South L.A. neighbors Fresh vegetables and herbs will be available throughout the neighborhood, thanks to the Prayer and Produce Community Garden sponsored by St. Mark United Methodist Church. The South L.A. congregation, headed by Pastor Gary B. Williams, dedicated the garden on August 7, and anointed the land as its contribution to the fight against food insecurity, also called food deserts, which refer to limited access to quality, affordable and healthy products. Faith Community Coalition Helps Churches Sustain and Even Expand Ministry

FCC and LOGOS Faith Development aid churches in transforming properties for affordable housing and community gardens Even before COVID-19 hit, many churches were struggling to maintain their property and the pandemic made the prospect much harder. Masters Leads St. Mark UMC Holy Week Revival

The Rev. Dr. Henry L. Masters, Sr., will be the guest preacher at the 2nd Annual Holy Week Revival beginning Sunday, April 9 through Tuesday, April 11, at 7 p.m., at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 8305 S. Gramercy Pl., in Los Angeles. According to Pastor Gary Bernard Williams, the theme is “The Devil Is a Liar,” and the revival is part of several activities planned for the week.
