Walgreens First Ladies Health Initiative will kick off the 2016 season with its First Ladies Health Day in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 10. Thirty-five first ladies, ranging in age from 30 to 82, will host the event. The women represent a combined church membership of more than 10,000 people who can access several free health screenings and obtain wellness information. “In our communities, the church serves a multitude of purposes, including ‘hospital’ for the spiritually downtrodden; so, it is a natural fit to open the doors of the church to offer these health services, empowering attendees of all ages
Maximizing ministry potential is the goal of the 2015 Church Development Conference sponsored by Southern Missionary Baptist Church (MBC) of Los Angeles. The four-day events aims to equip pastors, ministry leaders and congregations with scripture, tools and resources to effect positive change in churches and the community. The conference takes place on the campus of Southern MBC, located at 4678 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles. Sessions begin Saturday, July 18, at 10 a.m., and continues on Sunday, July 19, at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. On Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21, workshops will start at 7 p.m.
