Pandemic-weary Angelenos will be hitting the roads
and airways in large numbers this Thanksgiving, with about 4.4 million
Southern California residents expected to travel for the holiday, according to
estimates released by the Auto Club.
California is looking for new commissioners to draw its redistricting maps, the maps that define who votes for California’s representatives in Congress, its state Senate, Assembly and Board of Equalization members. The deadline is coming up fast to apply for the job, which pays up to $300 per day.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced additional incremental funding for a Disaster Recovery National Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) to the California Department of Employment Development to assess workforce needs in response to wildfires that affected the state in October and December 2017.
California’s new law is the latest development in the nationwide debate over bail, which many people say unfairly punishes people for being poor. Other states including New Jersey, Alaska and New Mexico have overhauled their bail systems, although no other state has completely eliminated bail.
