Despite the obstacles both teams faced in the beginning of the season, Crenshaw and Dorsey rose to become the top two teams in the Coliseum League. At their rivalry showdown, the Dons found their stride to defeat the Cougars 27-6.
The Crenshaw Cougars football team remain undefeated in the Coliseum League play after defeating the Dorsey Dons 51-0 during their Homecoming and Rivalry game. Dorsey made costly turnovers and the Crenshaw offense bested the Dorsey defense.
In part of their “Fantennial Weekend,” the Los Angeles Chargers hosted a “Friday Night Lights” showdown tailgate party on Friday as Crenshaw High School battled Lawndale High School.
Earlier this month, Crenshaw High School football coach Robert Garrett won the 2017 Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year. The Don Shula award is given to a coach who shows outstanding leadership to players during games and for their lives.
