The Western Baptist State Convention of California will hold its 134th Mid-Winter Board Meeting beginning Saturday, March 2, through Thursday, March 7, at Greater New Light Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1154 E. 92nd Street in Los Angeles.
Fifty were invited, but nearly 100 showed up on Nov. 27, to support Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s campaign to represent California in the U.S. Senate.

The historic flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey galvanized the Los Angeles faith community into action with multiple efforts underway to assist hundreds of thousands in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. The various donation drives, conducted by denominational and independent ministries, urge L.A. residents to contribute bottled water, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other items to help victims rebound from the wide-ranging destruction.
