Western Baptist State Convention Holds 132nd Annual Session

President J. Benjamin Hardwick and the executive board of the Western Baptist State Convention of California will host the 132nd Annual Session convening on Saturday, August 6, and continuing through Thursday, August 11, at the Praises of Zion Baptist Church, located at 8222 South San Pedro St., in Los Angeles.

Baptist Ministers, Conventions Plan Hurricane Relief Service

The victims of Hurricanes Harvey will receive more financial support, thanks to the efforts of six L.A.-area Baptist organizations. The leaders of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Los Angeles and Southern California (BMC), Western Baptist State Convention (WBSC), California Missionary Baptist State Convention (CMBSC), California Baptist State Convention (CBSC), Progressive Baptist State Convention (PBSC), and Full Gospel Church Fellowship Southern California (FGBCF) are uniting to present “Baptists 4 Hurricane Harvey Relief Sunday” on Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., at Praises of Zion Baptist, 8222 S. Faith Community Unites to Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

  The historic flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey galvanized the Los Angeles faith community into action with multiple efforts underway to assist hundreds of thousands in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. The various donation drives, conducted by denominational and independent ministries, urge L.A. residents to contribute bottled water, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other items to help victims rebound from the wide-ranging destruction. Agape Church of Los Angeles Calling their effort “Houston: We Are Standing With You,” Agape L.A. will accept donations on Friday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the corporate office located at 4602 Crenshaw Blvd.,

WBSC Contributes $40,000 to Feed Homeless

Western Baptist State Convention Opens 127th Annual Session

  The Western Baptist State Convention (WBSC) is preparing for its 127th Annual Session, which officially opens on Monday, August 7, at 7 p.m., and continues through Thursday, August 10, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1502 E. 20th St., in Santa Monica. According to WBSC President J. Benjamin Hardwick, he and the WBSC Executive Board will focus on dealing with present realities and shifting to the possibilities of tomorrow through Jesus Christ.
