Los Angeles Chargers Sign Joey Bosa to Multi-Year Extension

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Bosa posted an NFL-record 19 sacks in his first 20 career games and has registered 10-plus sacks in three of his first four seasons (totaled 5.5 sacks in seven regular-season appearances in 2018). His 0.78 sacks-per-game ranks third since entering the NFL in 2016 among players with at least 40 career games played.

Chargers Sign LS Matt Overton

The Los Angeles Chargers signed LS Matt Overton, the organization announced on Friday. In a corresponding move, DT Cortez Broughton has been placed on the non-football illness list. 

Raiders Release OL Donald Penn

Penn originally signed with Oakland as a free agent in March 2014 and was part of a roller-coaster ride during his five seasons with the team. The Raiders lost their first 10 games in Penn’s first season before turning into a playoff team with 12 wins in 2016.

Chargers Agree to Terms with Tyrod Taylor

Taylor has appeared in 62 games with 46 starts. The 2011 sixth-round selection by the Baltimore Ravens has passed for 9,529 yards with 53 touchdowns to 20 interceptions while completing 61.6 percent of his passes. On top of his passing, Taylor has rushed for 1,836 yards for 16 touchdowns while sporting a 5.6 yards-per-carry average.

Donald Penn acknowledged being a big rusty when he got his first game action in more than nine months at an unfamiliar position. He was beaten for a sack on the opening drive for the Oakland Raiders and allowed a few other pressures in his first NFL start at right tackle after 170 games and three Pro Bowl selections on the left side.
