The Biden Campaign will also spend on ad buys with African American-owned media, including the NNPA, TV One, Roland Martin Unfiltered and others. Campaign officials said they will continue to add other media outlets targeting African Americans as the campaign moves forward.
Between 2013 and 2019, police in the United States killed 7,666 people according to data provided by Mapping Police Violence, a research and advocacy group. The number of police killings in America disproportionately affects African Americans, who despite only making up 13 percent of the U.S. population, are two-and-a-half times as likely as whites to be killed by police.
Biden said he plans to hold financial institutions accountable for discriminatory practices in the housing market, and he will restore the federal government’s power to enforce settlements against discriminatory lenders. Additionally, the plan calls for Biden to strengthen and expand the Community Reinvestment Act to ensure that the nation’s bank and non-bank financial services institutions are serving all communities.
Tempering any enthusiasm of a Biden-Obama ticket, Biden added that, “I don’t think she has any desire to live near the White House again.” He concluded that it’s still too early to select a running mate
