Fenty Skin is responding to consumer demand with the return of its beloved Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream in the Vanilla Dream scent. This limited-edition release comes in a jumbo size, 2.5 times larger than the standard jar, offering a $112 value for $79.

Rihanna, founder of Fenty Skin, emphasized the brand’s commitment to customer feedback: “We heard y’all loud and clear! We brought back one of our most highly requested products bigger and better. No shimmer – just double the size of our Vanilla Dream scent in our award-winning Butta Drop formula.”

Housed in a pink recyclable container, the Jumbo Butta Drop features the same luxurious formula that made the original a favorite. It boasts a comforting scent profile of vanilla, pink sugar, and coconut. The body cream is composed of nearly 25% rich butters and a curated blend of seven nourishing oils, including baobab, Kalahari melon, jojoba, and sunflower. Designed to leave skin deeply hydrated, smooth, and glowing without any stickiness, the formula also incorporates antioxidant-rich mango butter and glycerin to lock in moisture and improve elasticity.

This release aligns with the significant influence of African American consumers in the U.S. beauty market, particularly in the fragrance category. In 2023, African American consumer spending on beauty products totaled $9.4 billion, with fragrances and hand and body lotions being standout categories.

Specifically, African American consumers accounted for 15.9% of fragrance-buying households but contributed to 22.4% of the total spending in the fragrance market. Over 85% of African American consumers in the U.S. wear perfume and other fragrance products, a higher percentage compared to 78% of the total U.S. population. More than 60% report that they do not leave the house without wearing fragrance, integrating it as a part of their daily routines.

Fenty Beauty has been active in 2025 with several notable developments:

  • You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray: Launched on January 17, this setting spray promises a 12-hour wear, is free of alcohol, oil, and fragrances, and includes wild thyme extract to hydrate and protect the skin. Rihanna emphasized its ability to lock in makeup while maintaining skin health.
  • Gloss Bomb Oil Campaign: Rihanna showcased a matte black French manicure in the campaign for the new Gloss Bomb Oil, aligning with the resurgence of the ‘indie sleaze’ aesthetic. The manicure featured short, square-shaped nails with a matte finish and glossy tips.
  • Collaboration with GloRilla: Rihanna selected Memphis-born artist GloRilla as the face of her Fenty enterprise, spanning across Fenty Beauty, Hair, Skin, and Savage x Fenty. GloRilla expressed excitement about the collaboration and shared insights into her personal and professional life.

The Jumbo Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream in Vanilla Dream ($79) will be available exclusively at FentySkin.com and Sephora.com.

For fans of the original Butta Drop, this release offers an enhanced experience in both size and indulgence.
